Fabric Wall Hanging

Lately I have had a fabric obsession! I have been sewing and dying fabric for a few weeks now and decided to share my latest project. It is my first wall hanging for a swap with The Art for the Creative Mind Yahoo Group

I started out with some of my hand dyed and painted fabric. I used acrylic paint, stencils, and Dylusions inks on my fabric.

I made mini fabric pillows following Teesha Moore's video tutorial. After I had my pillows done I sewed then all together using my sewing machine and a zigzag stitch.

Next I did some free motion sketching on the piece.

It is hard to see in the pictures, but on some of the squares I used some sparkly green tulle under the free motion sketching doodle.

Here's a look at the back of the finished piece. I chose solid commercial fabric, as it made a nice accent to the hand dyed fabric.

And there you have it. I was quite happy with my first attempt at a fabric wall hanging. I am submitting this to the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge. Be sure to stop on over to the challenge to see some wonderful creations. As always thanks so much for stopping by!
