Over at The Artistic Stamper the challenge is Summer is On it's way. I remember as a child being so excited for Summer. Summer meant family vacations, riding bikes, no school, bare feet, camping out, and playing outside until it was dark. I decided to go through some old photographs and I chose 2 that had quite a bit of meaning to create my pages around.
I used masking tape on my background and then covered it with white gesso. My initial intent was to have some of the texture from the tape to show through, but you will see in the end it really did not.
Next I applied a layer of Golden Crackle Paste.
After the paste was dry I spritzed and drip some watered down acrylic paint and acrylic inks. I went with bright pink and orange to reflect bright summer colors.
Next I stamped and inked some white cardstock and tags. I then layered this together along with some burlap and stitched it all together.
I added in some more background stamps to my page for some added interest.
Now for my photos. This photo is my sister and I in our backyard down by the creek. We used to love going down there to splash around, go exploring, and cool off from the hot Summer Sun.
My Dad and Grandpa built my sister and I the best tree house ever. It had "real windows" that opened and closed, a slide out the back, and a back porch. We would spend hours playing in it.
So there you have it my Summertime layout. I hope you enjoyed my post and as always thanks for stopping by.
