Peonies

I was inspired this week from some flowers my best friend gave me. The peonies were just so pretty sitting on my kitchen counter.

I adhered down some torn book pages and then dripped and spritzed some High Flow Golden paint onto the page.

Next I used the peony picture to trace my flowers onto tracing paper. I adjusted and added in some lines. I then adhered this down to my background.

Lastly I used watercolor paint to paint the flowers. I did not quite have the right faded pink color, but I think the bright color pops off of the page more.

I am submitting this to 2 challenges. Over at Simon Says Stamp it is all about for the Love of Plants. At the Mixed Media Place the Challenge is Drawing (even though I did not completely freehand the peonies I did do some).

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

  3. I had to swing by and tell you just how much I love this page! I adore how it has that drippy look and how you made the flowers translucent so we can still see the drips behind them. The color palette is gorgeous, too, and you have such a great eye for design! I enjoyed everything about this post and am so glad you shared it with us here at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog!
