Think Like a Tree

Over at A Vintage Journey the Challenge is Spring Colors. However, our house looks a bit different then others this spring. We don't have any flowers popping up, for that matter we don't even have grass. What we do have is a yard full of grass seed and straw and lots of green trees. I decided to do an art journal page based on the colors seen in my backyard.

I found a tree poem called "Think Like a Tree" which i thought was quite appropriate for my page. I hand wrote the poem out on a piece of copy paper, crinkled it up, and added some brown ink to ink. I then layered it with some tissue tape and some Tim Holtz paper.

I used a Tim Holtz Stencil and black Dylusions Spray ink to add some contrast to the page. I then smeared some Straw, Peeled Paint, and Broken China Distress Ink onto my page.

I added some white gesso in areas to blend everything together. Lastly I inked up a tag and printed out part of the Think like a Tree" poem.

So that is my take on Spring colors and a quick look at my plain, but still very pretty backyard. As always thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you are enjoying the colors of this Spring!
