Dirt

I was not really sure how this page layout was going to turn out when I decided on my theme and color combination. Over at Simon Says Stamp the Challenge is Coral. I wanted to participate in the challenge and complete my week in review spread. So here is what I came up with.

The dirt theme came to me while I was looking though the photos from the week. We did a lot of outdoor projects this past week, "playing in the dirt".

I splashed some watered down coral paint on some white cardstock for my background. I picked out several patterned scrapbook papers that went with the coral paint. I then cut these into squares and stitched around them.

I cut the word dirt out of the same patterned paper using my Cricut. I love Florida Georgia Line's "Dirt" song, so I decided to use the lyrics on my page. I added some coral paint around the edges to pop everything off of the page.

The Dylusions house stamps seem to fit right in with my theme for the week. I stamped them onto white cardstock and patterned paper and then added some coral paint to them.

Lastly here's a look at my planner page. More coral paint, pictures, and some journaling.

In the end I was really happy with how all of this came together - although I am not sure how Florida Georgia Line would feel about me using the color coral with their "Dirt" song. As always thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. This has got to be the most elegant dirt I have ever seen! What a clever theme to zero in on and I love how you conveyed the theme in such a pretty way. Your little houses look fabulous with the bright patterned paper you chose and I love how they pair so well with all of your dirt splatters. Really creative work here, which I thoroughly enjoyed seeing, and I'm so glad you shared it with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge!
