Bright Colors and an experiment

I am back today to share a week in review page spread.

Over at the Craft Stamper the challenge is Bright Colors. I decided to create some washi tape using medical tape, bright colored acrylic paint, and some background stamps.

Once my tape was dry, I added to my page. I decided to use a dark acrylic grey paint for the background so the tape really popped off of the page. I then added in some photos and handmade flowers.

The flowers were a bit of an experiment. I used some fabric paper (also known as cloth paper) that I made using muslin and mono-printed deli paper.

I followed this tutorial to make my flowers. The fabric paper is a bit stiffer than fabric and it does not fray, so I was not really sure how this would work out, I was pretty happy with the result. Each flower is colorful and unique. You really can't control the overall look of the flowers due to the multi-colored fabric paper, but I liked that aspect of it.

Lastly, I added in my planner page from the week, which I painted with the same bright acrylic paints I used on the washi tape. I also used some Dylusions black and white spray ink to add some contrast.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my little flower experiment and my week in review page.
