A Single Hop

I have decided to combine 2 Challenges with this art Journal page. Over at Simon Says Stamp the Challenge is Just a Hint of Clover (green). I have a fascination with frogs, so when I think of green I think of frogs. As I was pondering what to do I came across the Journey quote by none other than Kermit the Frog and decided to add in a Travel Theme to go along with the Frilly and Funky Vacation Challenge.

I started out by adhering vintage maps to my page. I was also inspired by Anna-Karrin's page. I used some Heavy Gel Medium mixed with Peeled Paint ink and smeared it through a few Tim Holtz Stencils.

I then smooshed around a lot of various green Distress Inks. I spritzed it with water and let the colors drip and blend together. I then used Black Soot Distress Ink to stamp a few travel and vacation images onto the background.

Next I added in my grass and flowers. The grass is a scrap piece of green cardstock that I cut and inked up. I also inked the edge of the flowers to give them a bit more dimension.

The frog and suitcase were two separate vintage images from the Graphic Fairy. I printed them in black and white, cut them out (the frog was initially sitting on a rock in a field), and then colored them with colored pencils and paint pens.

Lastly I added in the quote. I painted and inked up the grungeboard frames, added in stickers, and painted around the letters and stickers with a green paint pen.

And there you have it my Green Vacation Travel page. As always I hope you enjoyed my post and thank you very much for stopping by.
