A little bling Shabby Chic layout

It has been a while since I have done a shabby chic project. So when I saw that the Frilly and Funkie Challenge was Bring on the Bling, I was inspired to do a shabby chic layout for my week in review spread.

I stamped, heat embossed and spritz shimmer inks onto patterned scrapbook paper.

I painted my art journal pages and my week in review planner a dark charcoal grey so that the layout would pop off nicely.  I used paint markers and pens to on my planner page to add in my journaling and doodling.

I wanted my pictures to have a vintage feel so I printed them in black and white and then went around the edges with some white gesso. I then adhered them to a piece of burlap and added that to my page.

Lastly I added in the flowers and bling. It is hard to see in the pictures, but the shimmer ink dripping down the page adds a bit of sparkle too.

Be sure to stop on over to the Frilly and Funkie blog for more inspiration and as always thanks so much for stopping by.

  2. What a fun layout. Love how you have combined mixed media with shabby and tied it all together with the aqua colour. Thanks for joining us at Frilly and Funkie.

  3. I so love the way you've put this layout together with those beautiful bling embellishments working against the more grungy inked and stamped background. Thank you for joining us at Frilly and Funkie. Jenny x
