Tropical Tag

I joined in another tag swap with the Creativeblock-Stampers Anonymous. The theme is tropical - kind of fitting as we are experiencing record low temps and more snow today.

It seems I am really into texture these days. I started out with some modeling paste. While the paste was still slightly tacky I stamped into it with a Tim Holtz Script stamp.

Next I used several Distress Inks to give the tag some tropical colors. After I was happy with the tag color, I went over the raised areas of the modeling paste with more ink.

I then stamped my image with Archival ink and a Stamper Anonymous Stamp onto some white card stock. I inked up the card stock with Peacock Distress Ink. I wanted the butterfly to pop off a bit so I used some Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink and colored the in the butterfly. I also added some splashes of the Distressed Marmalade Ink.

For even more texture I used corrugated cardboard. I first covered the cardboard with white Gesso and then went over it with some Distress Peacock Feathers Ink. I then flicked on some water to create a bit more interest.

I used another Tim Hotlz Stamp , a piece of vellum, and black Archival Ink for the word Voyage. As we don't have any tropical weather here in Northeast Ohio I thought the word voyage was fitting. I used the a Stampers Anonymous Stamp to stamp the small butterflies onto vellum. Then I cut them out and adhered them onto the tag.

And there you have it my Tropical Tag. I am submitting this to the Simon Says Stamp Paradise Challenge, I think my tropical butterflies fit right in with the challenge. As always thanks very much for stopping by.
