A couple weeks have now passed and I am ready to express my feeling through an art journal page. The world lost a wonderful, kind person and heaven now has another angel. There really are not enough words to describe Gram so I won't even try, instead I will just share the pages with you.
This started out as a simple spread. I wanted to create a few tags. I began laying them down on the pages to see how many I needed.
I decided to go with a dark brown background and smooched paint around with a pallet knife.
Now the hard part picking out the perfect photos. I could have filled up an entire journal with pictures, but eventually settled on these few.
I then started gluing down patterned paper to the tags. I wanted to paper to be subtle background, yet have meaning.
Next I started adding more layers - more paper, ink, stamps, pictures, lace, and embellishments.
I could not stop adding stuff to the page. The flowers are cut using the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Die and are cut out of crinoline and burlap. I died the crinoline flowers with Victorian Velvet Distress Stain. I then added pearls, buttons, and tiles to the centers.
I used alcohol ink to color the glass fragments. I then stamped on a few saying that went with the pictures. This particular saying is perfect - Gram and Grandpa were two people that defined love and marriage.
And there you have it my dedication to Gram. I am submitting this to 2 challenges: The Frilly and Funkie Winter Blooms Challenge and The Artistic Stamper Love Challenge. AS always thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read all of this!
