The challenge over at Our Creative Corner is to use something leftover form Christmas. I decided to use some leftover Christmas napkins. As you can see form the finished art journal page they are pretty hard to spot.
I started by gessoing and collaging my napkins down. I don't think collaging is a real word - but I will use it anyways :)
I went to Pintrest to look up the word leftover to try to come up with a few words. I came across a quote by Captain Corellis Mandelin that I really liked. I decided to make my own stencil by paraphrasing the quote and cutting it out on my Cricut. I used modeling paste through the homemade stencil and added in some stamping.
Next I started spritzing my page with some acrylic paint sprays.
I then went back over the top of the modeling paste quote with some white gesso to pop it out a bit more.
I typed most of the quote out, printed and cut it out, and then inked the edges with distress Pumice Stone. As you can see in the picture my napkins and stamping are still peeking through in some areas.
Here is a picture of the back of the flap. I added just the word Love here with more modeling paste and my stencil.
And there you have it a look at my Leftover Love art journal page. I am also submitting this to the Craft Stamper Magazine Take a Stamp Challenge. Be sure to check out both challenges for more inspiration. Thank you for stopping by today!
