My word for this year is Do. I have decided that this is the year I stop procrastinating and worrying about how something will look and just do. I have several things on my must do list and hope to share more of that at a later date. For now I have decided the first page in my art journal will be my word for the year.
Over at the Documented Life Challenge it was all about using book paper and being your own goal keeper. I found some painted book paper in my stash and collaged that onto the background. I then adhered Tim Holtz dictionary tissue paper over grunge board and cut out the word Do. For some added texture I applied modeling paste through a few stencils.
I printed out my goals with the word do in them onto some blank book paper. I then gessoed over my entire background.
For the most of the page I followed Donna Downey's Inspiration Wednesday Journal Video. I added in a few of my own touches with some ink and of course my printed book pages.
On the back of the flap I adhered the definition of the word do, just as another little reminder to my self.
I inked up the edges of the printed book paper with archival ink and orange paint to they popped off the background a bit more.
That is my first journal page for 2015 and boy does it feel good to be back art journaling. I am submitting this to the S.W,A,T. One word for 2015 Challenge. Thank you so much for stopping by!
