A great week!

I am a bit behind already this year on my week in review pages. As you can see this was the very first week in 2015. I wanted a bright and colorful page to celebrate the New Year.

I started the background by swiping some gesso through a stencil.

I then used some Dylusions Sprays to add in the bright colors. You can really see how the gessoed stenciled circles pop off now.

I decided to try out a planner this year so my week in review pages will include my week at a glance planner pages. For this page I used neon paints watered down a bit, paint markers, and pens for doodling and journaling.

I then added in my pictures form the week. I cut out the word celebrate using my Cricut and adhered that to the page.

Lastly I cut out some stars from grunge board. I painted them using the neon paints and then stamped them with some Tim Holtz background stamps.

I am submitting this to the Simon Says Stamp Inky Background Challenge. Be sure to stop on over there to see what the talented design team has done. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.

  1. Beautiful page!! The gesso resist effect is stunning. Thank you so much for getting inky with us this week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog!

  2. WOW! I don't think you should feel bad for being behind on your pages because this was definitely worth the wait! I am so impressed with the polka dot/Gesso technique! I can't believe how well the circles and dots stood out once you added the Dylusions! I feel completely inspired and am so glad that you shared this with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
