There's a Fire Starting in my Heart

I am back today with a quick post. The challenge over at the Mixed Media Place is all about Adele's song "Rolling in the Deep". I love Adele and I love this song. I decided to create a page based on the first few lines in the song: "There's a Fire starting in my Heart. Reaching a Fever Pitch and it's Bringing me out of the Dark."

I wanted the page to have quite a bit of texture and depth so I used some crumbled up napkins for the texture. I sprayed Dylusions inks over the napkins. I then added in some stenciling with more Dylusions Ink Sprays.

I wrote the lyrics on an old library card. I used a Dwerent colored pencil to go over the lines and inked it up a bit for a more grungy look.

The heart is colored in with a black Gelato and then I went around it with a white Gelato to pop it off of the page. I love how you can still see the ink colors and the Gelato really brought out the crumbled napkin texture. I added some drip of acrylic paint down the page to add in a bit more red.

I think I captured the song pretty well. I was trying to depict the rage, but also overcoming the rage and "coming out of the dark". As always thank you so much for taking the time to stop by. Be sure to stop on over and check out the challenge.
