This is my favorite time of the year. I love it when it starts to cool off and the leaves change color. There is something about the Fall that just makes me happy. I came across this canvas by Anna-Karrin and was blown away. I love the composition and arrangement of the piece. I did not have any canvas handy so I decided to create an art journal page instead.
I had to tweak several things because I did not have all of the supplies she used and I wanted my page to lay flat and not have too much bulk to it. I created my background with Gel medium through a hand made stencil. Once the gel Medium is dry it creates a resist. I then Golden Van Dyke Brown Hue and Transparent Red Iron Oxide over the gel medium. Before the paint was completely dry I wiped it away with a baby wipe.
For my window I used a white cardstock and free handed a window. I then painted it with Distress Stain. I scuffed up the edges and then added in some Walnut Stain.
I cut my leaves out of cardstock using the Tattered Leaves Die. I used a dictionary stamp and some archival ink to add some interest to the leaves. I then lightly spritz the leaves with water and crinkled them up. The water allows the paper to bend a bit easier. I unfolded the leaves and went over them with Walnut Stain Distress ink - Taking the ink pad and lightly hitting the raised, creased areas to add texture to the leaves.
The picture is of our backyard at the new house (still under construction). I digitally altered the picture so it was a bit more "artsy".
Lastly I added the saying in with a Copic maker and a Soufle pen.
And there you have it my Fall art journal page. I am submitting this to a few challenges: Inspiration Journal Fall is in the Air Challenge and The Eclectic Paperie Fall Challenge
