I am so very far behind in keeping up with my Art Journal. The month of July is flying by and while I have had a lot of fun, I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. I am having one of those weeks where I must remind myself that life is fun and these are some exciting times. So I decided to create a page about this - Love the Journey seemed to just fit.
When I feel a bit stuck creatively I like to turn to France Papillon's You tube channel. This video seemed to catch my attention and I thought the hearts just seemed to go with my theme. I started out my background with some torn masking tape, white gesso, Archival ink, and some circle stamps.
Next I used some homemade acrylic paint sprays, more torn masking tape, some golden high flow acrylic paint, and a heart stencil I made.
I then added some modeling paste like France did in the video. My second layer is modeling paste and drywall tape. The heart is cut out of grunge board and painted. I used Tim Holtz rub-ons for my saying. After the modeling paste and paint layers were dry I went over the top with a black Archival ink pad to accent the raised textured areas.
I thought the background needed just a bit more so I added in some more stamping. I really love how the drips of paint go right through the hearts.
I am submitting this to the Simon Says J is For Challenge. My J is for Journaling and the Journey. I am very happy with how this turned out and it will be a nice little reminder to enjoy Life's beautiful Journey. As always thank you so much for stopping by.
