All About Me

I recently joined Journal Workshops by Jennibellie, a fantastic mixed media artist. The May Challenge is to create a journal page Getting to Know me without using words. I really love photography so I decided to use photos for my interests.

I started out using some Distress ink, one of my favorite products. I dragged it around the edges and stamped a few of my favorite background stamps with it. Next I used some Stamped tissue paper. I love to read and learn so I used a dictionary stamp. For my love of nature I used a butterfly stamp. And of course to represent art i used a brush stamp.

I then layered on some white Gesso using a credit card and smooshing it around to get some texture.

I really love bright colors so I used some homemade acrylic sprays for my next layer. Spraying on a layer, letting it dry, then adding more over top along with a few spritzes of water so that the acrylic would drip down the page. I then added in a few stencils, spraying over them with more of the same colors of acrylic spray.

Next I added in some butterfly tissue tape by Tim Holtz.

Now onto the pictures. The picture of myself is at a park, again representing my love for nature. The jeans picture represents my love for comfortable clothes. I would take a good pair of jeans, a t-shirt, tennis shoes, no make up and hair not done over getting all fancied up. I have 3 pictures of some of my own artwork. I really like drawing faces and I am recently into sketching quirky little things. Of course more pictures of the great outdoors. These are places were I have had the pleasure of hiking and skiing at, 2 more of my favorite things to do. And then lastly another paint brush. This one is a vintage looking brush also representing my love for antiques and old treasures (junk to some people).

Lastly I added in my saying and 2 more pictures to tie the 2 pages together.

So there you have it a bit more about me. I am submitting this to the Eclectic Paperie Get Stenciled Challenge. Thanks for reading this far and for stopping by.  I would love to hear form you so feel free to leave a comment.
