Time After Time

Over at the Frilly and Funkie Blog the Challenge is Time after Time. Cyndi Lauper instantly popped into my head, I am definitely an 80's girl! So here is my take on the challenge a fun, funky, punk, 80's style art journal spread.

I started by applying some white Gesso with a palette knife. It is hard to see in the picture, but this really gives the page some texture.

Next step was to add some red acrylic paint. I then added some more paint by layering 2 stencils and stamping with a  hand carved cloud stamp.

I then adhered down my clocks, which are images from the Graphic Fairy. I free-handed the chains in and shaded around each clock.

Now for my 80's girl. I used several images from various magazines to make her up. Her arms, legs, hair, and body are all separate images collaged together. I then added highlights to her hair and tights using paint markers and pens.

I used a black and white pen to add the lyrics from Cyndi Lauper

Last step was a bit more doodling and some spritzing with the Tim Holtz marker Spritzer, which I got from the wonderful Frilly and Funkie shop.

As always thank you so much for stopping by. I am off to listen to some more 80's music.
