I recently saw a video by Donna Downey (now I can't seem to find the correct video) where she mixes Airbrush medium with acrylic paints to make a spray. I have been wanting to make sprays that are waterproof, so that I can apply more medium over top of them and the won't run, and this was just the inspiration I needed.
I mixed Golden fluid acrylics in a 50/50 ratio with Airbrush Medium by Liqutex in a spray bottle. I then shook it up until it was completely mixed.
I started out the background by jounaling onto the page then collaging over it with text pages and washi tape.
I then used 3 colors of the sprays I made. I also sprayed some water to really make the colors run. After the first layer was dry i added a bit more and sprayed though a stencil. I really loved how this came out.
Next I used several more stencils and some white and black acrylic paint. A bit more spraying and then I scraped some white paint over areas with a palette knife.
Next I added the picture of my hands that I digitally altered. I used some border dies form Tim Holtz to go around my picture.
Lastly I added my saying. I printed the saying out and then colored some of the letters in and added some doodling and shadow to them. I added some stamping to the edges of the pages to draw your eye inward.
So that is it for my experimenting. I am definitely going to be mixing up more paint sprays. Simon Says Stamp is having an Anything Goes Challenge that I am submitting this to. Be sure to stop on over to see all of the creations. Thank you for stopping by today i hope i inspired you to try something new.
