Learning to Dance

This has been a rough week. I won't bore you with the details, but sometimes it is hard to see the good things through the storm. I am working on this and created an art journal page to reflect my feelings.

I started out by writing down my feelings and experiences. I then went over the journaling with White Gesso. You can kind of see it still poking through some.

Next I used my Fluid acrylics to add drips down the page.

I added in some grass and flower dots using black acrylic paint and paint markers.

The little umbrella girls are a technique I learned from Teesha Moore. I clipped the girls out from magazines and fashion books. I then covered the face with a black and white face. Next I cut out pieces and parts from their outfits and collaged in some magazine pages and some of my copied art journal pages. I them added in some highlights with paint markers and pens. After I adhered them to my page I add a shadow around them so they popped off of the page more.

I then added in my quote using paint markers, pens, and water color paper covered with black acrylic paint.

I am submitting this to the S.W.A.T. Flowers challenge. F = Fussy Cutting and Fluid paint, L = Lettering, O = Orange in the girls outfits, W = White Gesso, E = Ebony paint, R = Rain.
As always thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!
