In celebration of Earth Day I decided to paint an Earth goddess. I wanted to make it look like she was sprouting from the earth, like a Spring Flower.
I started out by sketching and shading my girl in. I used Neocolor II Crayons for the background.
I used some purple acrylic paint mixed with an Iridescent medium and scraped the mixture on with an old credit card to add a bit of sparkle. I also stamped some stars into the background with the same mixture. I added in some white dots with a white Gelato and stamped a few butterflies onto the background to add a bit more dimension.
Next I added in the flowers. I used embossing paste through a flower stencil I made. I then colored in the flowers with Distress Markers. It is hard to see in the pictures, but the flowers really pop off of the pages.
Last step was the saying. I used a black marker and went around some the the words with a white oen to highlight them.
I am submitting this to The Artistic Stamper Emboss and Texture Challenge. As always thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a very Happy Earth Day!
