A few of my Favorite Things

I decided to play along with The Inspiration Journal's Favorite Things Challenge. I am really enjoying the art journal process and documenting moments in my week.

I started out with some of my favorite background stamps and archival ink.

I am also enjoying experimenting with different mediums. i recently purchased some Golden Tar Gel and just had to try it out. I applied a layer over the stamped background and then sprayed some Dylusions Inks (another favorite supply of mine) over the wet gel.

Next I added in some acrylic paint into the wet gel. I swirled it around with a palette knife. I love the tar gel and the marble affects you get with it.

I then embedded my pictures, tag, and some butterflies while the gel was still tacky.

After the gel was dry, about 24 hours, I went around the pictures with a white paint pen, added a border with paint pens, and added some bling to my butterflies. Two more of my favorite things, paint markers, and bling.

So there you have it my finished spread. I am also submitting this to Simon Says Stamp Challenge Big Stamp for the use of my background stamps. Be sure to check out both challenges for more inspiration. As always thank you for stopping by.

I thought your use of big stamps to form the background was genius and all the details you added with the various color elements are amazing. The quote was both significant and heartwarming and those photos were incredible! What a wonderful job you did of combining such eclectic elements in a gorgeous way.
