Like a song bird sings

It is not quite spring here, but some of the song birds are starting to sing again, which means we can't be too far away. Here is my spring girl with a little spring bird perched on her shoulder.

I started with a simple watercolor background and then added and splattered some Twinkling h2o's. I then sketched in my girl.

I colored my girl with Prisma colored pencils, acrylic paint, watercolor, and paint markers.

I then stamped in the flowers using Picked Raspberry, Mowed Lawn, and Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink. I was going for a watercolor affect.

Then birds are stamped using a hand carved stamp I made myself. This was my first attempt at carving a stamp and definitely won't be my last.

I then added my saying with a black pen and a Sharpie paint marker.

Lastly I added my journaling and pictures from this past week in a fold out flap I attached to the page. I am submitting this to the S.W.A.T. mixed media challenge. Be sure to pop on over to see the wonderful creations. As always thank you for stopping by.
