A labor of Love

Being a scrapbooker at heart I really wanted to make sure we documented the building of our new house. Warning this is a long post with lots of pictures.  I am submitting my altered composition book to the Eclectic Paperie Altered book Challenge.

After I got the composition book pages prepped, following Tangie Baxter's video tutorial, I started the cover. First step was to gesso the cover and then used a palette knife and some green paint.

The door is brown acrylic paint mixed with some modeling paste. For the window I used a piece of plastic and colored it with various blue alcohol inks. I cut out the window frame from a plain piece of white paper.

I added our new address in using some number rub-ons and a Tim Holtz metal frame. The faux hinges are grunge board cut form a die and then inked and painted.

For the stones I used the Tim Holtz stone die to cut out a stencil. I then used some modeling paste. After the paste was dry I went over it with acrylic paint and alcohol ink.

I wanted to add in some pocket pages.

I also added in some flip out pages.

Some scrapbook pages mixed with inked up pages.

Some pages using some ephemera like a paper napkin.

Some pages just inked up with a stencil.

Some pages I just kept plain and simple using scrapbook paper.

Thank you for reading all the way to this point. There are lots more pages to filled in and a lot more house still to be built. Please stop back by again to see the finished results.
