I can't get enough of drawing faces. I have dedicated an entire journal to exploring how to draw different kinds of faces. I finally got around to decorating the cover so that I can distinguish it from my other journals.
This is the large Dylusions journal which starts out as a brown, kraft cover. I started out by stamping some of my favorite background stamps onto mulberry paper.
I then tore the stamped mulberry paper into a few strips and adhered that to my journal. I then added a wash of pink acrylic paint so you could still see the texture and stamping behind it.
Next step was to adhere the face. The face was part of a collage sheet that I had lying around.
I then added some tissue tape, paper flowers that I painted, a lace heart that I also painted, and a metal embellishment that I colored with alcohol ink.
My last step was to add the grunge board letters. These were also painted with several colors of acrylic paint.
I am going to submit this to 2 challenges. Over at Love to Scrap it is all about the word love and stamping. Since I used some of my favorite stamps on the background I decided to also submit this to Simon Says Stamp We Love Stamps Challenge. Thank you very much for stopping by I hope I have inspired you in some way.
