Art Guardian

I wanted to share with you my Art Guardian. She will be placed as the first page in my Lifebook Art Journal, a great class by Tamara Laporte.

I started out sketching her out and then started in on the background. Most of my papers are temporarily packed away so i created my own tissue paper. I used some of my favorite Tim Holtz stamps on a piece of tissue paper I had lying around and then collaged that in to the background,

I then started adding layers of color using acrylic paint and water-soluble  crayons. I love how you can still see the stamped tissue poking through.

Next I really wanted to add some texture to her wings. So I dabbed on Fiber Paste being careful to leave the peaks in it. While it was still wet I drew in the details for the feathers. I added my word for the year, Thrive, along the side of her wing.

Last step was to add a bit of sparkle to the heart she was holding. i went over it with Iridescent Medium. I was very please with how this came out.

I am going to enter this into 2 challenges. The Simon Says Stamp A is for, In my case A is for Art Journal and Art Guardian. The other challenge is Stampendous A New Year. My New years resolution is to work in my art journals more and to practice drawing more faces. I must say I am really happy with this page. Thank you very much for stopping by i hope you enjoyed my little Guardian.
