We came across this field full of wild flowers and it was my husband's idea to re-in act a "running through the field" scene. How could I resist getting out and enjoying the Maine Spring beauty and acting a bit silly.
If you have never been to Maine in the Spring time it is a must see. Everything is so very green and against the blue ocean the scenes are just breathtaking.
For the layout I used paper from Webster's Pages. I am submitting this to the Embellish A Little challenge over at Scrapbooker's Paradise. I have added quite a few extra touches or embellishments to the pages. First, I fussy cut out the flowers and butterfly's from the paper and then inked the edges with Gathered Twigs Distress ink so they popped off of the page.
I stamped the beige background paper with stamps from Tim Holtz Mixed Media and Shabby French Stamp sets to add a bit more interest. I also decided to sew around the page and rough the edges up a bit.
I wanted to add some extra texture to the pages so I used the Tim Holtz Brick Die and made a mask. I then went over the mask with some modeling paste. To highlight the brick a bit I inked the edges up with Black Soot Distress Ink.
I decided to add a few more flowers to the layout, after all isn't Spring all about flowers. I used Tissue Wrap and the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Die to cut out a bunch of flowers. I then sprayed them with Dylusions Lemon Zest Spray Ink and added a brad to hold them all together.
I hope this put you in the Spring Mood and don't forget to check out the challenge over at Scrapbooker's Paradise Blog for even more inspiration. As always thank you for stopping by.
