Over at Simon Says Stamp and Show this weeks challenge is Fly. Be sure to stop over and check out all of the wonderful creations and get entered for a chance to win a Gift Certificate to Simon Says Stamp I decided to change things up a bit and instead of my normal obsession (art journaling) I created a tag.

For the background I used Peeled Paint and Forest Moss Distress Ink. I painted the branch on with brown acrylic paint and then went over everything with Rock Candy Crackle Paint.

My little bird is inked with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink. I then glued on a layer of feathers to give her some texture. On a side note when you cut feathers apart they go everywhere. My little creative space looks like a birds nest! I added some white acrylic paint to highlight a few areas. She needed a nest to lay in and for this I used a doily inked with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.

Lastly, I added the word Soar and a few embellishments: a feather inked with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink, part of the leftover doily, and 2 paper flowers inked and then stickled for some added sparkle.

As always thank you for stopping by. I hope you can soar to new heights today!
