April in Paris crackled

The challenge over at the Frilly and Funkie Blog is April in Paris. I decided to combine this challenge with a crackle background tag swap going on over at Art for the Creative Mind Yahoo Group.

I loved Linda's tag she made for the challenge. I used similar items for my tag. I used the Tim Holtz Bookplate Embossing folder and then inked it with Picket Fence and Peacock Feathers Distress Stain.

I then stamped my Eiffel Tower image into the middle of the oval on the tag. I went over just the oval portion with Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint. After this was dry I went back over it with Victorian Velvet distress ink, making sure to get it into all of those cracks.

I then added a lace around the oval dyed with Victorian Velvet Distress Stain.

I painted some antique metal embellishments with pink acrylic paint. After it was dry I sanded off some of  the paint on the raised areas.

As always thank you for stopping by. Be sure to check out the challenge for more wonderful creations.

  5. Oh my, gasp, that is just gorgeous! I love the combination of the Peacock Feathers and the pink acrylic paint, especially on the wonderful vintage elements. The lace is beautiful too, the way you have treated it with the Victorian Velvet. So great to have you playing along with us this time at Frilly and Funkie!
