Once Upon A Time

Did you ever have something or someone in your life that would just make you smile every time you saw them? This is how I feel about my two little fur-boys. It was like I was in a happily ever after fairy tale every time they were around.

In the past few months there has been a lot of ups and downs. I have not spent too much time looking at my favorite blogs, but when I saw Annette's version of Tim's January Tag, I just knew I wanted to create an art journal page.

To better explain the purpose behind my pages, let me just give you the condensed version of the past several months. Like I said, my 2 cats , who we have had for almost 13 years, were one of my favorite things about my life. No words can describe how I feel about these furry family members, other than a deep unconditional love. Unfortunately we lost one of them suddenly a few weeks before Christmas. This took us by surprise and I was devastated. I decided to try to focus on our other cat. He has been quite sick since last September. Lots of vet visits, tests, and 2 trips to a specialist and we received an answer last week. He has Pancreatic Cancer with maybe a month to live. After the shock has worn off I have decided to make the most out of everyday we have left with him. He is sitting here crafting away with me as I type.

Now that you have the back story you can understand that when I saw the saying on Tim's Tag I really thought it was just too perfect not to try to create a page around. I typed the saying out rather than stamping it so it would fit better on the two pages.

I added small pictures of the both cats behind the film strip.

I thought the Winged Heart Die was more appropriate to use rather than the gears that Tim used.

A few added touches like the crowns on top of my princes and the Once Upon a Time stamped at the bottom completed my fairy tale pages. I am submitting this to the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge Ever After.

Thank you very much for stopping by. I am off to have some cuddle time with my little fur-ball. I hope you have a happily ever after kind of day!

  4. Stacy-What a wonderful, beautiful moving tribute to your furbabies. Both cats are so handsome. Love the tiny personal photos in the strip-so creative and the beautiful composition of the pages. The tiny crowns throughout are precious. So much to study and take in.As you know I just had to put my Sweetheart cat to sleep in January. Had tears in my eyes as I read your post. Inspired me to make something to remember Rocky. Will share when I complete. Take care...
