More Christmas inspiration

Well I guess I am on a role this week. I have another card this one inspired again by the wonderfully talented Shelly Hickox. When I saw her front door card I just fell in love with it.

To make the outside of the card look like the front of a house I added a stoop, Santa's Toy sack, an address plaque, and some stamped brick.

I did not have the die Shelly used so I improvised a bit and cut out my own front door using my Cricut. I used Picket Fence Crackle on the door frame. For the door itself, i used a white paint dabber and the Tim Holtz wood grain stamp. the paint created a resist for the blue Distress ink.

Once I knew the size of my door,  I cut a hole in the front of the card. I wanted the door to open and reveal Jolly Old St. Nick.

When the card opens St. Nick pops out. I used the Sizzix Pop n Cuts die for the pop up portion.

I stamped the jolly fellow with Embossing Ink and then added Ranger's Tinsel embossing powder to make him sparkle a bit. I colored him in using various colors of Distress Markers.

I used the Tim Holtz Brick die to make the fireplace and add some balance to that side of the card. The fire is a piece of glossy card stock inked with various colors of alcohol ink and then just cut into a flame shape. It is hard to see in the picture, but the tops of the stocking are colored with the Snow Marker. This makes them puffy and really looks like white fur.

I am submitting this to the Simon Says Stamp and Show House Rules Challenge. I know it is not a complete house, but I think it still qualifies. I encourage you to go check them out and enter for a chance to win a gift certificate. Thank you for stopping by and I hope your house is filled with the magic of the season.
