You never know how Strong she is until she gets in hot water." - Eleanor Roosevelt. When I saw this quote was the A Journaling we will go Part 2 Challenge at Eclectic Paperie I just knew I had to play along. First of all I have a major tea obsession (drinking at least 3 glasses of tea a day). Second I just loved the quote. So here is my entry for the journal challenge.
For the background I layered Tim Holtz Tissue Tape and pieces from magazines and then sprayed it with several colors of Dylusions Spray Ink. The background turned out to be the color of tea - although I did not start out thinking this was the affect I was going for. I also used stamps from Tim Holtz Bitty Grunge and Mixed Media stamp sets with various colors of paint to add even more texture.
I cut out the three woman out of a clothing advertisement. I really thought their body language represented a strong woman stance. I toned down the advertisement by swiping some white paint dabber over it and quickly wiping it off. after adhering it to the page I went around the image and added some shadows in to pop it off of the page a bit.
Thank you for stopping by - now go and have yourself a cup of strong tea.
