I do believe Summer is here! As a child this was the time of year for family vacations and Summer still reminds me of traveling. I have many wonderful memories of traveling with my parents and sister.
So the theme for this months All Things Tim Challenge is travel. Please join the group and participate in the challenge for a chance to win a fantastic prize! I have made a few travel tags and a Compass charm.
Here is a close up of one of the tags showing the texture made from cheese cloth and then cover with Gloss Studio Multi-medium. I then inked it with various colors of Alcohol Ink. The map was stamped onto sticky back canvas and colored with Distress Inks.
The Compass Charm was created by stamping the compass with Archival Ink using the Tim Holtz Air Travel Stamp set. I added a bit of a steampunk look to it with a Mini Gear in the middle and a metal Die Cut gear on the outside. Both gears are colored with Alcohol ink.
I punched out the middle of the compass and adhered it to a bottle cap. I ran the bottle cap through my Big Shot to smash it down and soften the rough edges. For instructions on how to do this see my post here. I then filled it in with some Glossy Accents. I am not sure what project I am going to use this charm/embellishment with, but I am sure I will find something. After i made this I found a perfect place for it - you can see that here.
Thank you for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your Summer and have safe travels where ever you may go!
