May flowers

I decided to have flowers as this months theme for the All Things Tim monthly challenge. I decided to make a double page scrapbook layout for the flower challenge.

I used various patterned papers and Tim Holtz's Tattered Floral die to cut my flowers out. I then inked the edges of the flowers with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and crinkled the edges up. I then layered two flowers on top of each other for some added dimension.

I made these cute little butterflies to add to my flowers for some extra interest.

First I stamped the butterfly onto to clear acetate using Ranger's Jet Black Archival  Ink. I then added clear embossing powder over that and heated it up. This step set my ink, otherwise it would have smeared all over the place.

Next step is to add some sparkle and color to the butterflies wings. To do this I applied various colors of Distress Stickles over the stamped image (don't worry about covering up your stamp). Let this dry thoroughly and then you can flip the butterfly over and you have a clear stamped butterfly colored with stickles. It looks a bit like stained glass and oh so pretty.

I am also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Anything Goes where you can win a gift certificate to Simon Says Stamp.

Enjoy the May flowers and thanks for stopping by!
