All Cracked Up

It is time for another challenge over at Studio L3. This time it is the Shattered Stains technique out of  A Compendium of Curiosities by Tim Holtz. I decided to make a Mother's Day card for the challenge (a bit late in posting this).

The flower was created using the Shattered Stain technique. To add a bit more fun to the card the flower actually twirls and spins. Speaking of fun you can win a gift certificate from Simon Says Stamp for playing along with this challenge, so head on over to Linda's blog to join in the fun.

While I had my crackle out I thought I would alter another bottle. This time a mini wine bottle for a small bud vase. I used the technique from Wendy Vecchi for the outside of my bottle. I also applied UTEE over top of the dried stained crackle to give it even more texture.

I heat embossed the metal flowers with Aged Mahogany, Dried Marigold, Shabby Shutters, and Broken China. The small strips of metal are embossed with the Damask embossing folder and inked with Copper and Pitch Black Alcohol Ink. The larger flourish metal strip is die cut with the on the edge Scrollwork die and then died with Sail Boat Blue and Sunshine Yellow Alcohol Inks.

I was very pleased with how the bottle came out and the Gerber Daisy from our yard looks oh so pretty in it. Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!
