Everyday Things that make me Smile

I am keeping my goal up and creating a page a week in my art journal. Since this is all a bit new to me I am looking for some journal ideas to help me start out. I stumbled upon A Year in the life of an Art Journal while surfing the Internet today. They have journal prompt on the 15th and 30th of every month and this first 1/2 of the months prompt is The little things take some photos of some of the little details in your day that make you smile. Figuring out what to put on my pages was easy for me: my husband, my friends, my creative space, the Pittsburgh Steelers, nature, my Jeep Wrangler, my IPad, my two cats, and anything Tim Holtz makes.

Studio L3 challenges also make me smile. This week's challenge was out of Tim Holtz's A Compendium of Curiosities Volume 2: Creating custom foam stamps. So since I am all about what makes me smile today, I had to participate. Plus Simon Says Stamp is giving away a gift certificate to one lucky winner. Another thing that makes me smile, shopping!
I used the Gadget Gears die to make my custom stamp. For the background I used Tumbled Glass, Scattered Straw, and Dusty Concord Distress inks and then used my custom stamp with Vintage Photo Distress ink.
I added some distress Clear Rock Candy Stickles to the corner of the pictures to make them pop out a bit more. I thought the Life and Cherish Ideology pieces fit nicely with my pages and added one more dimension.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you find many things that make you smile today!
